Leaders Madrid travelled to Leganes without Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale and with Karim Benzema only on the bench but still managed to score four and bring home all three points. James Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata sent the visitors on their way but they were stunned when the Liga strugglers hauled themselves back into it with two goals in three minutes to make it 3-2.
