Champions League: Roma 2 Shakhtar Donetsk 3

Shakhtar Donetsk are in the box seat to make the Champions League quarter-finals after a 3-2 away win against Roma on Wednesday.

Roma took a 28th-minute lead through Simone Perrotta, but the Ukrainian side hit straight back and produced three goals in a 13-minute burst to see them head back to Donetsk with the advantage.

Claudio Ranieri s side will have their work cut out trying to win in Ukraine, with Skakhtar unbeaten in their last 53 matches in all competitions at home. Their last loss at the Donbass Arena came in October 2008.

After successive Serie A defeats to Napoli and Inter Milan, Ranieri s side came out firing and dominated the early stages of the contest.

Nicolas Burdisso and Mirko Vucinic went close to scoring before Roma took a deserved lead…

International Friendly Preview: France v Jamaica

France s preparations for the marquee tournament were rocked by the news that the Bayern Munich winger will play no part in Brazil due to a back injury.

The 31-year-old had shown signs of improvements and it was hoped he could feature in Sunday s encounter with Winfried Schafer s men at Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

However, he suffered a setback during sprint tests on Friday and an MRI scan ruled him out of contention.

In a further blow, Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier has also been forced to miss the tournamwnt in Brazil with a groin injury sustained in training on Thursday.

Should Marc-Andre ter Stegen leave Barcelona in the summer?

To leave or not to leave? / Image via metro.co.uk

Marc-Andre ter Stegen joined Barcelona in 2014 after four successful years with his boyhood club Borussia Monchengladbach.

Talent

Regarded as one of the greatest goalkeeping talents across the continent, the 23-year-old German international is at the delicate moment in his career and next couple of months could very well define his entire career.

Ter Stegen was signed for a fee of £9.7 million on a five-year contract with the buy-out clause in excess of £63.6 million as the talented goalkeeper was designated first-team member and an acquisition for the future, following the departures of Victor Valdes and Jose Manuel Pinto.

The 23-year-old German ultimately became victim of bad timing and poor l…

Real Madrid reignite interest in Mane?

According to a recent report from France Football, Real Madrid have reignited their interest in Liverpool star Sadio Mane. It was well known that they were sniffing around Anfield a few months back over the possibility of going after Mohamed Salah, but now, their attention has changed course. Mane was a target for Zidane prior to his departure from Real during the summer, and now that he’s returned, he is back on the Mane hype train. The 26 year old has been arguably the Reds’ most influential player this season, and he seems to be going from strength to strength.

He joined Liverpool back in 2016 from Southampton, and at the time, he joined the club following a string of poor signings. With expectations at an all time low, the Senegal international has been able to perform …

Messi still absent for PSG´s trip to Bordeaux as Ramos closes in on injury return

Lionel Messi has been ruled out of Paris Saint-Germain s Ligue 1 clash with Bordeaux through injury, but the forward is expected to be available for Argentina s upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Six-time Ballon d Or winner Messi was replaced at half-time in PSG s 2-1 comeback win over Lille last week and subsequently missed Wednesday s 2-2 draw with RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

The Barcelona legend is continuing to struggle with a knee and hamstring issue and will not be risked against Bordeaux on Saturday as Mauricio Pochettino s side look to tighten their grip on top spot.

Messi also missed a string of games upon joining PSG from Barca in August, but Pochettino is hopeful his compatriot can return to action during Argentina s games with Uruguay and Brazil o…

Agent: Spurs overpricing Pavlyuchenko

Roman Pavlyuchenko s agent says Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is pricing the striker out of a potential move away from the club.

The 30-year-old striker has scored only once in five Premier League appearances for Spurs this season, with the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe being preferred by Harry Redknapp.

Despite saying in December he did not want to lose any of his strikers in the transfer window, the Spurs boss has seen Pavlyuchenko linked with a number of clubs including Lokomotiv Moscow and Anzhi Makhachkala.

But the player s representative, Oleg Artemov, said he and Levy are yet to reach an agreement over the player s resale value.

We can’t agree about the price with Mr Levy, Artemov told The Sunday Mirror. He values Pavlyuchenko a…

No Inter offer for Motta

Inter are yet to contact Thiago Motta over a contract renewal, the player s agent has declared.

The Brazil-born midfielder s current deal expires in the summer of 2013, and while the 29-year-old is keen to prolong his stay at San Siro, the Inter hierarchy have not yet made their intentions known.

Right now, there has not been any contact from clubs abroad, player agent Dario Canovi told SportItalia.

His desire is to stay, but there have been no signs from Inter that they want to renew his contract.

The player is fine and his relationship with the club is great.

Motta, who arrived at Inter in 2009, has made 11 appearances in all competitions this season.

Cyberpunk 2 Will “Push the Envelope” with its Dystopian Setting, Developer Says

Cyberpunk 2077 (and its expansion in particular) did a solid job of bringing its rich and dense cyberpunk setting to life, but some might argue that developer CD Projekt RED perhaps did not go as far with the game’s thematic depth and nuance as it could have, given the sheer thematic depth that the cyberpunk genre as a whole generally enables.

Members of the game’s own development team are, in fact, in agreement with that notion to some degree, and say they want to bring about noticeable improvements on that front with Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, which is currently in early pre-production at CD Projekt RED’s newly-established North American wing.

Speaking in a recent episode of CDPR’s AnswerRed Podcast, associate gam…
